My Vision Profile
Whatever your job, whether you’re an architect, journalist or a call centre employee, your eyes will certainly face some tough challenges at work. We spend hours in deep concentration, hardly blinking, our eyes switching between near and far distances. This is a kind of endurance training for our eyes, which can be felt particularly when near vision becomes difficult and shifting your gaze tiring.
Without the right glasses, we tend to naturally assume a posture that expresses our tiredness. Back and neck pain, or dry or teary eyes, are just some of the possible consequences. Our solution: ZEISS Office Lenses. Office glasses are optimised for your visual needs for office environments, meaning they support your eyes in just the right ways. This allows for a natural posture, meaning you can enjoy more comfortable vision at work.
The requirements made of our vision differ greatly from one job to the next. A role that involves plenty of customer contact – such as a registrar or banker – requires a different kind of support than an office job like one in a call centre. The visual profile of an architect is distinct and differs from that of, say, a journalist, who normally works at a computer, as opposed to an architect, who works at the drawing board.
A good pair of office glasses takes these differences of intermediate distances into account in their design and offers customised vision zones. If you buy a pair of glasses like these, you should have them adapted as precisely as possible to the particular visual needs of your job – that’s the only way to ensure your eyes stay relaxed at work.
ZEISS Office Lenses offer a very large field of vision for optimum results at close and intermediate distances (between 50 cm and 4 m), making them ideal for working. They have been adapted to the viewing distance between you and your computer screen, the distance to the customer or a colleague, and are perfect for reading, too. This means your head and neck will be in a natural, relaxed position all day long – making it easier to work.
To adapt ZEISS lenses as precisely as possible to your workplace needs, the ZEISS Vision Center Annys Asse offers you the following design options when you purchase a pair of these glasses:
For people who spend a large portion of their day reading documents. They focus more on the reading area with a maximum visual distance of one metre. Unlike conventional reading glasses, these lenses provide considerably more comfort when reading at a greater distance, thus allowing your eyes to relax.
For people who have plenty of contact with customers but who also spend a lot of time working at a computer, e.g. in retail or production. With generous viewing zones from the reading distance to the intermediate area of four metres.
Did you know ... ZEISS Office Lenses were not designed exclusively for office use? They are just as well-suited to the demands of day-to-day life: while pursuing your hobbies, doing DIY, playing an instrument, for arts and crafts, cooking or doing the housework – basically for any activity that requires you to take a close look at things.
We’d be happy to help you find the best option for you.
ZEISS Office Lenses have an extra innovative feature that makes working with digital devices even easier: our Digital Inside® Technology. The lenses’ near zone features a unique enhancement that enables comfortable vision for print and digital media such as smartphones, e-readers and tablets, which are often closer than traditional media: a pair of office lenses that can meet the needs of the digital world.
Light sources like a smartphone, TV, LED lamp or laptop emit much more blue light than ever before. Blue light can potentially wreak havoc on our body clocks, cause insomnia or prevent us from getting a good night’s sleep. Some people find this unpleasant or tiring.
Greater comfort is achieved by using the special blue light filter ZEISS DuraVision® BlueProtect. It works very well in artificial light and helps people looking for a way to protect their eyes against blue-violet light. In addition to a blue light filter, lenses with ZEISS DuraVision® BlueProtect feature a hard coating that protects against scratches, reflections and a CleanCoat finish for easy cleaning.

If you spend hours on end working at a computer, you’re probably used to having dry and overtired eyes. Our tip: Relax your eyes every so often by using the 20-20-20 rule! How it works? Every 20 minutes, focus on an object 20 feet (or 6 metres) away for 20 seconds. A tree or a lamppost across the street would be perfect.
Taking your eyes off the digital display for a while really refreshes your eyes – try it out and see!
